The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board on 1st December 2021, celebrated Counselors in Public Primary Schools in the state at the annual Guidance and Counselors award/end of year party ceremony. The event took place at Agidingbi Primary School, Agidingbi, Ikeja. The event, aimed at rewarding hardwork, had in attendance Members of the Board, Education Secretaries, Nigeria Legion Corps and other education stakeholders The Executive Chairman of the Board, Hon. Wahab Alawiye-King, while delivering his opening remarks, appreciated the burden bearers for providing succor to the pupils in overcoming emotional, academic and social challenges faced in and outside the four walls of learning. The SUBEB Chair, ably represented by Mrs. Adedoyin Sherifat, Board Member, stated that their contribution in the education sector has not only improved learning among pupils but also supported them in regaining their confidence and self-esteem. She noted that their advocacy against molestation and support for children's rights in schools is greatly helping children stay safe and sane in their learning environment. Mrs. Abosede Adelaja, retired permanent secretary, implored the confidants not to rest on their oars but continue to put in their best in discharging their duties. Cultural activities were displayed by the pupils and awards were presented to outstanding officers.
